GLASGOW, SCOTLAND
Mac loved coming up to the countryside just outside Glasgow, he had been coming up here every chance he got since he was a kid.
His favorite park was just a 40 minute walk from his house- even in lovely Scottish weather. It overlooked the entire City and he could see every thing from the high flats in the distance to the quiet towns just outside of the city.
The view was extraordinary. Even though he had seen it a thousand times before, it still took his breath away. He took the backpack off his shoulder and crouched down to get some water out of it.
He took the cap off the bottle and took a big swig of it, enjoying every drop. After his long walk up, it tasted like the best water on Earth. As he screwed the cap back on, the clouds began to part. “Must be an Alliance ship,” Mac muttered to himself while he slipped the water back in to his backpack.
But when he looked back at the city...the view wasn’t as serene as it had been just a second ago. His eyes widened as he saw a massive ship land right in the middle of the city. The ship opened up panels and fired a beam, obliterating the building in front of it. But it didn’t stop there. The beam didn’t stop. It was coming towards him. That was the last thing he saw.
VENICE, ITALY
Looking around the landscape Michael was glad that he had chosen the old fashioned way to travel to Venice- by boat. He could have taken the shuttle and probably would have already been at his destination but he would have missed so much of the beauty along the way.
Michael sat back in his chair. The sea air was relaxing and the sound of the water hitting against the boat started to lull him to sleep.
Right as Michael started to doze off, a wave of water covered him and knocked him off his seat. He gasped and staggered to his feet still disoriented. He ran to the side of the boat to see what may have caused the sudden wave of water and saw a Reaper landing no less than 10 feet from the boat. Before Michael could do anything about it, the impact caused a massive wave that engulfed the helpless boat. It capsized on contact and knocked Michael back causing him to hit his head hard on the deck.
Michael began to wake as he felt someone dragging him. His vision was still blurry so he couldn’t make out who it was. As his vision began to come back to him a massive course of pain went through his body. Before it was too late he was able to get a glimpse of a massive spike going through his abdomen. He could feel the energy being drained from him. Was this it? Was he going to die? Then, everything went black.

*logging in...Welcome Alex...recording transmission*
Hello...my name is Alex....and...Shepard was right...the Reapers are here. There have been reports of them touching down all over the place here in the United States and across the globe.
I should stay here in Oregon, by the coast. But I cant. Not only am I concerned that the Reapers will find this place...but last night, Cerberus found our camp. I don't know if they're working for the Reapers or not but we had 60 people or more...now we're down to just 7...I'm not a soldier and have only had a little training on how to control my biotics. We weren't trained to fight or kill...but it looks like its come to that.
The others are going to stay here...but...I’m not. When Cerberus hit our camp last night, they took my boyfriend, Josh. I was able to hear some of the Cerberus agents mention that they were heading to their secret research facility in Portland. I know they're still holding him...experimenting, studying him. I haven't given up...haven't stopped looking.
If i don’t make it back...whoever finds this, please...if u can, find Josh, and keep him safe. All i know, is that i will NOT stop fighting...not even for a second.
This is Alex...signing off

“Mommy! Ty won’t stop hitting me!”
“Ty, honey, please stop hitting your sister. What did I tell you about screwing around in the back while I’m driving?”
Ty frowned and turned to look out of his window.
His sister stuck her tongue out at him with a content grin.
“Why is there so much traffic?” he finally asked with a frustrated tone.
His mother glanced up at the rear view mirror so she could see him. “Everyone is on their lunch break and we’re in the heart of the industrial center.”
Ty sighed and leaned his head back, slipping his head phones back on to listen to his “crazy heavy metal music” that his mother wasn’t quite fond of.
For a second, Ty had slipped into a daze, lost in his own thoughts, the outside world completely mute. His eyes were closed as he mouthed some of the words to the song he was listening to. Then he felt his sister shake him hard. He slipped his headphones off and glared at her but before he could say anything he first noticed the look of pure terror on her face. His mother panicking in the front. Cars beeping. Alarms going off...and then the loudest and most disturbing noise he had ever heard. He covered his ears and turned around to look out the back window. “Oh my god...”
There were giant ships walking towards them and everything they came in contact with was being obliterated.
“Mom step on the gas!”
“I can’t!” There was a pile up of cars and crowds panicking in front of them. “Get out of the car!” She slipped out and took his sister out. Ty dashed out of the car and froze when he saw the thing shoot a red beam at the buildings to the right of him. Someone yanked him from his arm and he nearly fell over but he knew he had to run. Everything came in flashes after that. Dust. People. Screaming. His mother falling. His sister was gone. It was weird...at that moment. It had been so loud but now all he could hear was the sound of his breathing. He stopped. Turned around. It was almost mesmerizing. Then the beam came, and he couldn’t hear his breathing anymore.
TOKYO, JAPAN
I don’t know why I’m writing this...there’s no saving us...or maybe I feel that way because there’s no saving me. I don’t know how much time I have left but...I guess this is what people do when they’re about to die alone, right? Write a note...I guess I just want someone to know that I existed. Ironic how my brother and I came to Japan on vacation. We wanted to get away from the stresses of our daily lives...I guess this is happening every where though so maybe it’s not as ironic as I thought. Maybe it was just bad timing...if that even makes sense.
They took my brother. I don’t know what they were...they looked like some kind of zombie thing...He was dead though. Why would they have wanted his body? And those constant noises outside. The constant thumping, the screaming, and........
There’s something right outside the door...I could hear it breathing. And it’s not human. This might be the last thing I write...I don’t have a gun...and don’t have anything to protect myself with. I guess I just wanted to say that.......
Much better than Mass Effect Deception's Prologue:

These are awesome. Just pointing out there is a spelling error in the Oregon one. Should say "now we're down to just 7" instead of " done to just 7". Still great
